Ferrari’s first-ever electric car, ‘Luce’ (Chassis 0), has created a sensation at auction by fetching a record price of $40 million, equivalent to approximately ₹382 crore. The one-of-a-kind vehicle was sold at an RM Sotheby’s auction in the United States, marking a major milestone for Ferrari as it prepares to enter the electric vehicle segment. Designed as a special one-off model, the car is expected to be delivered to its buyer in 2027.
The auction proceeds will be directed towards educational initiatives through the Ferrari Foundation. The record-breaking sale has drawn attention not only because of the car’s exclusive design and significance as Ferrari’s first electric model, but also because of its contribution to the foundation’s educational programmes. The auction highlights the growing interest in ultra-exclusive electric vehicles among luxury-car collectors.
