Minister Konda Surekha’s absence during Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s tour of the erstwhile Warangal region has triggered political speculation. The Chief Minister visited three districts on Sunday and participated in several development programmes, but Surekha was not seen at any of the events. Revanth Reddy also reviewed development works at Medaram without the presence of the Endowments Minister, adding to the political buzz. Speculation is now rife that internal differences within the Congress may have kept Surekha away from the tour.
Surekha was also absent from the public meeting held in Parkal, where Revanth Reddy stated that Revuri Prakash Reddy would contest from Parkal in the next elections. The statement has gained significance as Surekha’s daughter Susmitha had earlier expressed her interest in contesting from the constituency. This has led to discussions over whether political differences were behind Surekha’s absence during the Chief Minister’s visit to her political stronghold. However, neither Surekha nor the Congress party has officially clarified the matter.
