‘People Will Never Forgive You for This’.. Amit Shah Makes Strong Remarks Against Congress

Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a sharp attack on the Congress while addressing a public meeting in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. He alleged that the Congress had disrespected the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ during Independence Day celebrations. Shah claimed that Sonia Gandhi had asked the party leadership to stop the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ midway at the Congress headquarters. He said the incident was witnessed by people across the country and accused the Congress of disrespecting a symbol associated with India’s freedom struggle.

Shah highlighted the historical significance of ‘Vande Mataram’, recalling that several freedom fighters faced lathi charges, gunfire and imprisonment for raising the slogan during the independence movement. He alleged that the Congress had ignored the national song for vote-bank politics and demanded that the party apologise to the people and the late Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, who wrote the song. The Congress is yet to respond to Shah’s allegations.
