

According to India Today data, the six national political parties in India reported a combined income of Rs. 7,960.09 crore in the 2024–25 financial year. The Association for Democratic Reforms stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party accounted for the largest share, receiving 85.03 percent of the total income. These figures were compiled based on the audited reports submitted by the parties to the Election Commission. The Indian National Congress stood in second place with an income of Rs. 918.28 crore, followed by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) with Rs. 172.60 crore, Bahujan Samaj Party with Rs. 58.58 crore, Aam Aadmi Party with Rs. 39.28 crore, and the National People’s Party with Rs. 2.18 crore.
The report also highlighted notable spending patterns among the parties. The Bharatiya Janata Party spent 55.76 percent of its total income, while the Indian National Congress spent more than its overall earnings during the same period. The Bahujan Samaj Party also spent more than the income it received, whereas the Aam Aadmi Party spent 92.83 percent of its earnings. Additionally, about 85.08 percent of the total income of the six national parties came from donations, with major contributions received by the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Indian National Congress, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Aam Aadmi Party, and the Nationalist Congress Party, while the Bahujan Samaj Party reported no donations.
