Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who has left a distinct mark on Indian cinema with films like Roja, is set to return with another intriguing love story. Following Thug Life, expectations are high for his upcoming film starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi. The project is reportedly being crafted in Mani Ratnam’s signature style, adding to the anticipation among movie lovers.

The director is said to have begun shooting quietly and is completing the film at a brisk pace. The title is reportedly set to be announced on September 7. The glimpse, built around the idea that life has many shades beyond black and white, has already attracted attention. A.R. Rahman is composing the music, while Anvikk Mukhopadhyay and Sreekar Prasad are handling cinematography and editing, respectively. Jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, the film is expected to release during the summer of next year.
