Congress MLA Konda Surekha said she was not upset about being removed from the ministerial post, but felt hurt by what she described as her removal without a valid reason. She said positions are temporary and that her real goal is to leave a lasting mark among the people. Addressing Congress workers in Warangal for the first time after her dismissal, Surekha, along with her husband Konda Murali, said opportunistic politics had increased in recent times.
Surekha recalled her political journey from being an MPP to becoming a minister and said she had earlier resigned from the ministerial post for the sake of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, whom she believed in. She said some people called them after her dismissal and suggested creating unrest, but she advised party workers to respect the high command’s decision. Surekha asserted that losing the ministerial post would not keep her away from public life and expressed confidence that Congress would win all seats in the upcoming municipal corporation elections.
