BJP state president Nainar Nagendran has clarified that there is no possibility of an alliance between the NDA and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), the political party led by actor Vijay. He stated that the BJP has no connection with the CBI summons issued to Vijay in connection with the Karur incident, nor with the delay in the censor process of Vijay’s film ‘Jananayagan’. Nagendran dismissed media reports suggesting that the BJP was pressuring TVK to join the NDA alliance.
Speaking to the media after reviewing preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming public meeting in Tiruchirappalli, Nagendran said the party held discussions with leaders in Kumbakonam of Thanjavur district regarding the arrangements. He clarified that the CBI notices related to the Karur Veluchamipuram stampede incident had nothing to do with the BJP. Nagendran also stated that the NDA alliance with parties such as AIADMK, PMK, and TMC remains strong, and seat-sharing discussions will begin soon. He further alleged that 34 custodial deaths occurred during the five-year DMK rule and demanded that the Stalin government answer for the rising crimes in the state.
