Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the government is closely monitoring the developments related to the conflict in West Asia and will take decisions keeping the interests of Indians in mind. He made these remarks while addressing an NDA alliance public meeting in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, on Wednesday night. The Prime Minister said the government has always prioritized the aspirations of the people in every situation and will continue to do so. He also criticized the DMK government, alleging that after being elected to power in 2021, it has prioritized family interests over public welfare and has turned the state into an ATM for political gains.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi attended an official event in Tiruchirappalli where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple development projects worth ₹5,655 crore. During the event, he flagged off the Nagercoil–Charlapalli and Podanur (Coimbatore)–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat Express trains. He also launched other express services including Rameswaram–Mangaluru, Tirunelveli–Mangaluru, and Mayiladuthurai–Tiruvarur–Karaikudi trains. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and L. Murugan, Tamil Nadu Minister Thangam Thennarasu, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and other alliance leaders attended the program.
