Iran Devastates Key US Navy Base in Bahrain

Despite repeated claims by U.S. President Donald Trump that American strikes had severely weakened Iran, Tehran has reportedly demonstrated its ability to inflict significant damage on U.S. military infrastructure in the region. Naval Support Activity Bahrain, a strategically important U.S. Navy installation and the headquarters of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and the Fifth Fleet, sustained extensive damage during Iranian attacks. Acting U.S. Navy Secretary Hung Cao acknowledged the scale of the destruction in an interview with The Epoch Times, marking a notable high-level confirmation of the impact on the base.

The damage has reportedly affected U.S. naval operations in the region, prompting the Navy to assess the future of the Bahrain facility. Cao said a task force is examining whether the installation should be repaired or whether alternative arrangements are needed. The base has served for years as a major hub for U.S. naval operations across the Middle East. Its reported damage and the uncertainty over when, or whether, normal operations can fully resume have raised questions about the future deployment of U.S. naval forces in the region.
