Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar welcomed the Supreme Court verdict allowing the continuation of previously granted environmental clearances for the Gouravelli, Palamuru-Rangareddy and Sitarama Sagar irrigation projects. He met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at his residence on Saturday and expressed gratitude by presenting a bouquet. The Minister said the favourable verdict was the result of the state government's efforts, including consultations with the Centre and strong legal representation before the Supreme Court. He added that the completion of these projects would provide irrigation facilities to lakhs of acres and address drinking water needs.
Meanwhile, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Select Committee on the Telangana Hate Speech and Crimes (Prevention) Bill-2026 will submit its report to the Legislative Assembly soon. A committee meeting was held under his chairmanship at the Speaker's office in the Assembly.
