Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has made several allegations regarding the landholdings and properties of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Referring to KCR’s 2004 Karimnagar Lok Sabha election affidavit, Ponguleti said the former chief minister had declared no agricultural or non-agricultural land in his name at the time. The archived affidavit records KCR’s total assets at about Rs 85.99 lakh, including a Banjara Hills property valued at Rs 70 lakh, while both agricultural and non-agricultural land were listed as nil.
Ponguleti alleged that KCR’s family accumulated substantial assets during the Telangana movement and the subsequent decade of BRS rule. He further alleged that government, poor and assigned lands were misused, leading to the accumulation of wealth. These are political allegations made by Ponguleti and are not independently established by the information available here. In his 2023 election affidavit, KCR declared family assets of around Rs 58.70 crore and reportedly showed no agricultural land in his individual name. Ponguleti also referred to comments attributed to KTR and questioned the differences, if any, between political claims about KCR’s property holdings and the details declared in election affidavits.
