

Revenue, Housing, and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that modernization works at Medaram are being carried out at a cost of over ₹200 crore in view of the Sammakka – Saralamma Jathara, with nearly 95 percent of the work already completed. Responding to questions in the Legislative Council on Monday, the minister stated that the structures have been built using stone to ensure durability for at least 200 years. He added that four lane roads have been constructed within a 10 kilometre radius around Medaram and that 29 acres of land have already been officially acquired for the project. To further enhance facilities for devotees, the government has decided to acquire an additional 63 acres of land.
The minister said that elaborate arrangements are being made to conduct the Medaram Jathara, scheduled from the 29th to the 31st of this month, on the lines of the Kumbh Mela. As per the directions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the modernization and arrangements are being closely monitored. As the in-charge minister of the erstwhile Warangal district, he, along with Mulugu MLA Minister Seethakka and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, has been conducting regular inspections and issuing necessary instructions. He also announced that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, along with ministers, MLAs, MLCs, and Speakers, will be invited to the inauguration of the Medaram modernization works on the 18th of this month.
