The stage is set for the new season of BiggBoss, with the grand launches of the shows in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam expected to take place around the same time. In Telugu, the show has successfully completed nine seasons and preparations for the 10th season are underway. Meanwhile, BiggBoss Hindi 20, hosted by Salman Khan, has already generated considerable buzz, with several names being discussed as possible contestants. Among them, the name of legendary boxer Mary Kom is now making waves on social media. Fans are reportedly eager to see the boxing champion enter the reality show, while her presence could potentially boost its TRP.
Mary Kom was born on March 1, 1983, into a poor farming family in Manipur. She worked in the fields and continued her education during her childhood before leaving home at the age of 15 to pursue boxing. Inspired by fellow Manipuri boxer Dingko Singh, she joined the Imphal Sports Academy and began training seriously. Her parents and husband, Onler Kom, played important roles in supporting her journey. Mary Kom went on to become a six-time world champion and one of the most successful women boxers in history.
She created history by winning a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, becoming the first Indian woman boxer to win an Olympic medal. In recognition of her contribution to Indian sports, she received several honours, including the Arjuna Award, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. She also served as a Rajya Sabha member from 2016 to 2022. Mary Kom married footballer Onler Kom in 2005, and the couple has four children.
