‘David Reddy’ Shoot in Full Swing at Ramoji Film City

Manchu Manoj is playing the lead in the upcoming period action drama ‘David Reddy’, directed by Hanuma Reddy Yakkanti. Set during the British era between 1897 and the 1920s, the film features Maria Ryaboshapka as the female lead, while Samuthirakani and Ramya Krishnan appear in important roles. Produced jointly by Nallagangula Venkat Reddy and Bharat Motukuri, the film is scheduled to hit theatres during Dasara. The current 45-day shooting schedule is underway at Ramoji Film City, where the team is filming a crucial prison episode on a large scale.

The makers revealed that the prison sequence will combine intense action and emotion and will play a key role in the narrative. Action sequences featuring Manoj and Samuthirakani are expected to be a major highlight, while newcomer Akhil will be introduced as the antagonist. The film will reportedly explore David Reddy’s fictional connection with prominent freedom fighters such as Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose and Bhagat Singh from a new perspective. A specially designed ‘War Dog’ bike is also expected to be one of the film’s attractions. The team is using extensive VFX to recreate the British-era world authentically and has already begun post-production work alongside the ongoing shoot.
