BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) strongly responded to remarks made by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, asserting that Telangana rightfully belongs to its people who fought, sacrificed, and struggled for statehood. KTR emphasized that Telangana was not formed overnight but emerged after decades of movements and sacrifices. He stated that the state's identity is deeply rooted in the aspirations and struggles of millions of people and that respecting those sentiments is essential for anyone entering Telangana politics.
Addressing Pawan Kalyan's comments on regionalism, KTR argued that regional aspirations should not be viewed negatively, pointing to several historical movements across India that were based on regional demands. While reiterating that any political party has the constitutional right to contest elections anywhere in the country, he stressed that leaders must understand and respect the history, sacrifices, and emotions of the people in the regions where they seek political support. KTR also maintained that Telangana's interests would continue to be protected and upheld by its leadership.
