The sale of Sri Kanaka Durga Ammavari laddu prasadam at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada has set a new record during the 2026 Dasara Sharannavaratri celebrations. A total of 3,069,048 laddus were sold during the first 10 days of the festivities, marking an increase of 749,847 compared with the 2,319,201 laddus sold during the corresponding period last year. Temple authorities made special arrangements to ensure that devotees could obtain prasadam without shortages despite the heavy rush.
On the 11th day of the celebrations, October 21, another 508,676 laddus were sold by 6 p.m. This took the total number of laddus sold so far to 3,577,724. Temple Executive Officer Srinayak said preparations had been made to meet the anticipated demand, with laddu production continuing at the temple kitchen. He added that around five lakh laddus were currently in stock to ensure an uninterrupted supply of prasadam to devotees.
