AP SEC Issues Key Directives to Collectors and SPs

Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha has issued key directions to district collectors and Superintendents of Police in seven districts in connection with the ongoing local body election process. He instructed officials to take the necessary steps to implement the Supreme Court’s directions. Punetha said the State Election Commission had not yet received a copy of the Supreme Court’s interim orders. He clarified that the directions would be implemented without fail as soon as the official copy was received.

Punetha also stated that elections would proceed as scheduled across the state, except in 19 municipalities. He said further action would be taken in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directions. The concerned officials have been asked to make the necessary arrangements while ensuring compliance with the court’s orders and maintaining the smooth conduct of the election process.
