Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha has submitted a detailed reply to the Election Commission of India (ECI), requesting recognition of her party under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. In her response, filed following directions issued by the Delhi High Court, Kavitha argued that the proposed party name, Telangana Rakshana Sena, is unique and does not resemble the name of any recognised or registered political party. She also stated that several political parties across India share similar words in their names, yet continue to remain registered without objection.
Kavitha requested the Election Commission to provide copies of the nearly 1,000 objections reportedly received against the party's registration, stating that neither the objections nor the identities of those who filed them had been shared. She argued that without access to these documents, it would be impossible to submit a meaningful response. The party also said it had already launched organisational activities across 105 Assembly constituencies after receiving communication from the EC in April regarding the proposed name. Kavitha urged the Commission to ensure a fair hearing, disclose all relevant material before the personal hearing, and take a reasoned decision in accordance with law.
