Vijay Sai Reddy’s Big Attack on YSRCP.. Announces New Political Party

Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Sai Reddy has launched a strong attack on the party leadership and what he described as the party’s “coterie”. In a detailed open letter issued on Saturday, he expressed anger over what he alleged was a social media campaign portraying him as a “traitor”. Reddy said the prevailing circumstances prompted him to give up his Rajya Sabha tenure and party membership. He also announced that he would soon launch a new political party. Reiterating his loyalty to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said that had he been a “traitor”, he could have reached a settlement with the Congress earlier and avoided the CBI and ED cases. He also recalled spending 15 months in jail along with Jagan.

Reddy further alleged that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy had emerged as the most influential figure within the YSRCP and was functioning like an “extra-constitutional authority”. He accused Sajjala of creating obstacles for MLAs, MPs and ministers seeking appointments with Jagan. Reddy also alleged that Jagan remained a passive spectator during an alleged physical confrontation involving him at the 2022 Mangalagiri plenary. He claimed that pressure from the party’s inner circle led to his removal from key responsibilities and the core committee, and said he had faced 74 instances of humiliation. Reddy maintained that he could not engage in covert politics while remaining in the party and would instead fight democratically among the people. He urged YSRCP workers and Jagan supporters to reflect on who the “real traitors” are and said he would reveal more details before the media soon.
