Recent developments around YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy have sparked discussions within party circles. Reports suggest growing disappointment within his family as well as among party leaders. With Jagan not actively engaging in public or party activities the way he once did, many leaders feel that the party’s direction has become unclear.
In the past, wherever Jagan traveled, huge crowds of followers and party workers would gather. But now, the enthusiasm seems to be fading. During his recent trip to Bengaluru, barely 50 people turned up to bid him farewell.
A similar situation was seen when he returned to Vijayawada’s Gannavaram airport. Despite large-scale security arrangements, traffic restrictions, and heavy police deployment, only a handful of leaders led by former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi arrived to welcome him. In fact, the number of police personnel present was higher than the number of supporters.
This stands in stark contrast to earlier times, when Jagan’s arrival meant massive crowds, floral garlands, and loud celebrations. Observers say the declining support could be a sign of Jagan’s diminishing influence.
If disappointment grows even among senior leaders, experts warn that it could pose a significant risk to the party’s future.
