AI Investments Drive Surge in Global Billionaire Wealth

While artificial intelligence (AI) is raising concerns over potential job losses, companies and investors benefiting from the sector are witnessing rapid wealth creation. According to global intelligence platform Altrata’s Wealth Report, the number of billionaires worldwide reached nearly 3,800 last year, with their combined wealth rising to around $15.1 trillion. The report noted that companies investing an average of up to $30 million in AI over the past five years achieved higher market valuations.

The growing value of AI-related technology stocks helped billionaire wealth rise by 12.8%, while the billionaire population increased by 8.2%, Altrata said. The report also found that 29 super billionaires, each with more than $50 billion in wealth, controlled 27% of the total wealth held by billionaires worldwide. North America led with 1,337 billionaires, followed by Europe with 1,081 and Asia with 881. Women accounted for just 13% of the global billionaire population.
