TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said in an informal chat that the Telangana Cabinet expansion is unlikely to take place anytime soon. He clarified that there was no discussion in Delhi regarding the Cabinet expansion. According to him, the discussions were limited to the issues concerning Ministers Konda Surekha and Chinna Reddy.
Mahesh Kumar Goud said that everyone had tried hard to protect Konda Surekha, but the Congress high command did not agree to the proposal in her case. He also stated that the high command has not given any information so far about the Cabinet expansion.
He added that the decision on when to expand the Cabinet rests with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Responding to reports about a possible ministerial berth for himself, Mahesh Kumar Goud said he had no information about such a proposal. He reiterated that serious efforts had been made to protect Surekha, but the AICC did not agree.
