Lord Hanuman, revered as an embodiment of devotion, courage and strength, attracts devotees to temples across Hyderabad, particularly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Among the city's well-known shrines is the Sri Tadbund Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple, located in Sikh Village near Bowenpally. According to the temple's traditional legend, Lord Hanuman appeared here in response to the penance of Sage Jabali. Local accounts also associate the temple's revival with a devotee who reportedly received a divine vision in the early 19th century. The temple celebrates Sri Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanti with special prayers, rituals and religious ceremonies. The Hanuman Jayanti procession, which begins in the Old City and concludes at the Tadbund temple, is another notable feature of the celebrations.
Another prominent shrine is the Sri Panchamukha Anjaneya Swamy Temple, located near Monda Market in Secunderabad. The temple is known for its depiction of Lord Hanuman with five faces representing Hayagriva, Garuda, Narasimha, Varaha and Vanara. According to devotional tradition, the Panchamukha form is associated with the story of Lord Hanuman protecting Rama and Lakshmana from Ahiravana. Devotees believe that worshipping this form brings wisdom, courage, strength and victory over obstacles. Special vermilion and leaf offerings are performed during Sri Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanti. Both temples are important spiritual destinations for devotees seeking blessings and experiencing Hyderabad's rich religious traditions.
