Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender will launch a padyatra on October 27, demanding the relocation of the Jawaharnagar dump yard. He expressed concern that methane gas emissions from the dump yard are contributing to several health problems among local residents. Criticising the government, Rajender alleged that successive administrations have failed to adequately address the concerns of people living in the surrounding areas.
As part of his campaign, Rajender will meet residents affected by the dump yard on October 23. On October 25, he will hold a round-table meeting at the dump yard site with intellectuals and environmentalists to discuss the issue and explore possible solutions. The meetings and the proposed padyatra are aimed at highlighting residents’ concerns and pressing the government to take action on the demand for relocating the dump yard.
