The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is reportedly factoring in social and caste equations while finalising candidates for two graduate Member of Legislative Council (MLC) constituencies in Telangana. The terms of the Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahabubnagar and Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda graduate MLC positions are due to end in March next year. According to the report, the party is considering allocating one seat to an open-category candidate and the other to a Backward Classes (BC) candidate. With the ruling Congress having already announced its nominees for both constituencies, the BRS has reportedly accelerated its selection process and is also assessing the likely candidates from the BJP. Party leaders are said to believe that fielding a BC candidate in the Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahabubnagar constituency could strengthen its political position.
For the Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda constituency, the BRS is reportedly inclined to give another opportunity to Enugula Rakesh Reddy, who contested the 2024 by-election and secured more than one lakh votes. His previous electoral performance and established connections with graduate voters are believed to be in his favour. The Congress has already named Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy as its candidate for this seat. Meanwhile, Kasani Veeresh Mudiraj and Nagender Goud are among the names reportedly being considered for the Hyderabad–Rangareddy–Mahabubnagar constituency. The names of the son of former Shadnagar MLA Anjaiah Yadav and former minister Srinivas Goud have also surfaced in discussions. Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy and other party leaders may also be under consideration. The final decision is expected from BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao, with an official announcement likely in the coming days. These details are based on the report and have not been confirmed through an official candidate list.
