Sushmitha Patel, daughter of Telangana minister Konda Surekha, has announced that she will contest the Parakala Assembly election as an independent candidate if the Congress party denies her a ticket. Her remarks, made during her mother’s birthday celebrations in Parakala, have triggered political discussion in the state. Sushmitha alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s approach changed after he became Chief Minister and claimed that her father, Konda Murali, had supported Reddy when he became TPCC president. She further alleged that Reddy had promised Murali an MLC post but failed to honour the assurance.
Sushmitha challenged Revanth Reddy to swear that he had never promised an MLC position to Konda Murali. She also questioned how a Parakala ticket could be announced for Revoori Prakash Reddy and challenged him to resign and face an election. Sushmitha alleged corruption involving the Chief Minister’s family and warned that she would reveal more details if she was targeted in response. She also questioned whether Revanth Reddy would remain Chief Minister by the time of the next elections.
