Telangana employees’ unions have issued an ultimatum to the state government, demanding implementation of the assurances made to employees. The action plan was approved at a meeting of the Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee (TEJAC). A one-day employees’ maha dharna will be held at all district headquarters on August 27. Employees will also attend duties wearing black badges until the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) is implemented.
The unions have also announced statewide protests on September 1, observing it as ‘Pension Virodha Dinam’. On September 10, employees will participate in a ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ programme followed by a maha dharna. TEJAC chairman Maram and secretary general Eluri said there was a perception that the JAC might announce an action plan and later withdraw it, as happened in the past. They made it clear that this time the agitation would continue until their demands are addressed.
