Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy questioned former minister T Harish Rao over the registration of assigned lands. He said that granting registration for assigned lands would be wrong regardless of which government approved it, and questioned how registration took place in connection with Harish Rao’s father-in-law’s land. Speaking to the media in the Assembly lobby, Ponguleti responded to Harish Rao’s claim that the previous Congress government had issued an NOC. He also alleged that BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy had registered Bhoodan land using a fake NOC and alleged that registrations involving prohibited land had also taken place in the case of former minister Gangula Kamalakar.

Ponguleti also shared details about properties listed under Section 22-A of the Registration Act. He said around four lakh acres in the prohibited list were patta lands, while the remaining land belonged to the government. He stated in the Assembly that the extent of land under the 22-A list had been reduced by 47,440 acres after the Congress government came to power. Ponguleti said the government would soon disclose more details of the alleged land irregularities during the previous government and take key decisions on the 22-A land issue.
