BITS Pilani has announced a major scholarship initiative for students appearing for BITSAT 2027. Under the new scheme, the top 1,000 rank holders in the entrance examination will be eligible for full tuition fee scholarships, provided their family’s annual income does not exceed ₹20 lakh. The announcement was made by V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the Birla Institute of Science and Technology, Pilani. To continue receiving the scholarship throughout the four-year programme, students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 7.5.
The scholarship will be awarded along with admission, so eligible students will not have to submit a separate application. BITS Pilani conducts BITSAT every year for admission to its integrated first-degree undergraduate programmes, including BE, MSc and BPharm courses. During the 2025–26 academic year, the institution distributed nearly ₹190 crore through scholarships, fee concessions and fellowships to students across various degree and PhD programmes. Of this amount, ₹101 crore was allocated to undergraduate students through merit, merit-cum-need and international student scholarships. According to the institute, one in every four students on its campuses receives financial assistance.
