Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spoke to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay over the phone and sought his government’s assistance in restoring power infrastructure affected by Cyclone Murasu. Chandrababu explained that the cyclone could cause extensive damage to electricity poles and disrupt power supply across several areas. He requested Tamil Nadu to send additional personnel and machinery to Andhra Pradesh to speed up restoration work. Responding positively, Vijay assured him that the Tamil Nadu government would provide the required workforce and equipment.
Meanwhile, electricity personnel from Telangana are already involved in restoring power infrastructure damaged by Cyclone Arnab. With the possibility of extensive damage from Murasu, the Andhra Pradesh government is making arrangements to mobilise additional resources from neighbouring states. Chandrababu is also considering seeking assistance from the Karnataka government if required to ensure that electricity supply is restored as quickly as possible in affected areas.
