Railway police have seized counterfeit currency notes worth ₹60 lakh at Secunderabad Railway Station and arrested a man allegedly transporting them from Jaipur to Mumbai. The accused, identified as Shivratan Mahia from Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, was travelling in the general coach of the Mumbai LTT Express when police intercepted him on October 31. Officials said the counterfeit notes were recovered from his possession.
According to the police, another accused, identified as Om Prakash, handed over a bag containing the fake currency to Shivratan at Jaipur Railway Station on October 28 and instructed him to deliver it to a person in Mumbai. The two allegedly agreed to pay Shivratan ₹2.20 lakh for transporting the counterfeit notes. He reportedly travelled to Kacheguda by the Mysuru Express before boarding the Mumbai LTT Express, where he was arrested.
