Tamil Nadu politics have taken a controversial turn as personal remarks involving film actresses have sparked widespread outrage. AIADMK MP Shanmugam made an objectionable comment referring to actress Nayanthara while reacting to Chief Minister Stalin’s public outreach initiative. His remark has drawn sharp criticism from various sections, including the public and officials, for crossing the line of decency expected from a public representative.
The issue has gained further attention as similar comments were made earlier by BJP state president Nainar Nagendran, who dragged actress Trisha into a political remark involving actor Vijay. These repeated incidents have raised concerns over the degrading nature of political discourse. The women’s commission has reportedly taken serious note, while many are demanding accountability and respectful conduct from leaders.
