Former Telangana minister and BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on the Congress and BJP during a meeting with Amberpet leaders at Telangana Bhavan on Friday. He claimed that the Congress had failed to win even a single seat in Hyderabad in the previous elections and alleged that it came to power through misleading statements and publicity. KTR said people were waiting for an opportunity to vote for BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) again. He also criticised the state government over power shortages affecting farmers and claimed that weather experts had warned the government about the possible effects of El Niño ten months in advance. KTR further accused the Congress of spreading misinformation about the Medigadda barrage and alleged that Rahul Gandhi had been brought in to make false claims about the Kaleshwaram project.
KTR alleged that the Congress and BJP were joining hands to criticise KCR and accused the state government of mismanagement. He described the administration as being in disarray and claimed that Revanth Reddy’s political prominence would last only another year, after which KCR would become chief minister again. He also accused the Congress government of running what he called a “loot-based administration” in Telangana. Looking ahead to national politics, KTR said the days when KCR would play a key role in the country were approaching. He also claimed that parties outside the Congress and BJP would become influential in national politics. These remarks reflect KTR’s political assertions and predictions.
