Former India cricketer and 1983 World Cup winner Krish Srikkanth has sparked debate with his views on potential IPL team changes. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth said Chennai Super Kings (CSK) could benefit from bringing Hardik Pandya into the squad, arguing that the all-rounder would strengthen the team’s all-round options. He also suggested that Mumbai Indians had faced difficulties with team composition and performance under Pandya’s leadership. According to Srikkanth, a trade involving Pandya could potentially benefit both the player and Mumbai Indians.
Srikkanth also made strong remarks about Shivam Dube, saying that if he were part of CSK’s management, he would release the player without pursuing a trade. He added that Dube could be released into the auction and potentially bought back at a lower price if needed. Srikkanth further recommended a coaching change at Mumbai Indians, suggesting that Indian coach Chandrakant Pandit replace the current head coach, Mahela Jayawardene. Describing Pandit as a capable strategist with a connection to Mumbai, he said the franchise could benefit from a coach who works quietly and effectively. His comments have triggered discussion among IPL followers about Mumbai’s leadership, team balance and possible squad changes.
