Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced that local body elections are likely to be held by the end of September or in October, immediately after the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He urged party cadres to stay fully prepared. A state-level coordination committee meeting of alliance partners has been scheduled for the 15th of this month, with further coordination meetings planned at zonal, district, constituency, and mandal levels. He also stated that in-charges will soon be appointed for constituencies where posts are vacant and advised new leaders to work closely with alliance cadres. Chandrababu addressed party leaders and zonal coordinators via a Zoom conference from the TDP central office, directing them to counter misinformation campaigns by YSRCP on social media and strengthen party outreach by promoting government welfare programs.
He further instructed leaders to promote the “Rayalaseema Rising” campaign, focusing on development, new industries, and employment opportunities in the region. While surveys indicate a positive perception of the government in Rayalaseema, there is some dissatisfaction with a few MLAs, prompting the need for reorientation. A two-day workshop for MLAs is planned in August. Chandrababu also emphasized countering divisive propaganda and maintaining restraint despite provocations from opposition parties. He highlighted efforts to resolve long-pending land disputes in several villages and urged cadres to publicize welfare initiatives like irrigation scheduling, urea supply through a dedicated app, Annadata Sukhibhava fund transfers, and upcoming schemes like Talliki Vandanam.
