Eleti Maheshwar Reddy Demands Probe Into 22-A Lands

BJP Legislature Party leader Eleti Maheshwar Reddy has intensified his attack on the Telangana government over alleged irregularities involving lands included in the 22-A prohibited list. Speaking at the BJP state office, he alleged that more than one lakh acres had been placed under the prohibited category after the Congress came to power and questioned how lands were allegedly being transferred to people linked to the ruling party. He said he had waited for Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy in the Assembly for nearly two hours after the minister sought evidence, but alleged that the minister did not appear.

Maheshwar Reddy demanded that the government release a white paper comparing the extent of prohibited land during the BRS regime with the land added to the 22-A list under the Congress government. He also questioned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s statement about a conspiracy and asked the government to identify those responsible. The BJP leader demanded a probe by a sitting judge or the CBI into the alleged irregularities and called for a House committee investigation into alleged ₹15,000-crore fund transfers. He further demanded that Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy be removed from the Cabinet and resign from the ministerial post until the allegations are investigated. Maheshwar Reddy said he would also send a letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi seeking his response to the allegations.
