Lokesh Reviews Status of AP Pilgrims Stranded in Nepal

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh reviewed the safety and whereabouts of AP pilgrims stranded amid floods in Nepal. Officials at the AP Bhavan in New Delhi informed him that four of the seven pilgrims were safe, while three were yet to be traced. The missing persons were identified as Bala Subrahmanyam from Kuppam and Shashikumar and Rajyalakshmi, who are associated with the Isha Foundation group. Officials said Shashikumar was last seen near the Gyirong Embassy in China.

Lokesh directed officials to maintain continuous coordination with the Central Government to trace the missing pilgrims. He also instructed authorities to make immediate arrangements to bring back those who are safe. He called for regular coordination with the Indian Embassy, the Chinese and Nepalese embassies, the Gyirong Immigration Centre and the Isha Foundation regarding the pilgrims’ safety. RTGS officials are monitoring the situation continuously. Officials also reported that Bhaskar Shastri from Kurnool district and three others who travelled for the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage are safe despite being caught in the floods.
