Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said the Centre has approved Rs.840.41 crore for upgrading two stretches of National Highway 365BB in Andhra Pradesh. The 45.09-km Buttaigudem–LND Peta and Pattiseema–Kovvur sections will be upgraded to a two-lane highway with paved shoulders.
The project is expected to improve connectivity to the Polavaram Irrigation Project and surrounding villages. Better roads will help the faster and safer transportation of agricultural produce such as tobacco, sugarcane and palm products to markets. The upgraded highway will also strengthen connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and improve access to Godavari ghats and the Polavaram Dam. It is expected to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and tourists during the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027, while supporting agriculture, tourism, trade and regional economic development.
