West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged that the central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party is planning to divide the state into three parts through the delimitation process. She expressed concern that some regions of West Bengal might be merged with neighboring states like Odisha and Bihar.
Speaking at election rallies in Bankura district, she claimed that there is a political conspiracy to weaken her party, the Trinamool Congress. She further alleged that the BJP had made a deal worth ₹1,000 crore to remove her party from power in the state.
Her remarks were based on a video released by Humayun Kabir, who claimed that he was offered ₹1,000 crore, out of which ₹200 crore had already been paid. These allegations have added tension to the political atmosphere in the state ahead of elections.
