Bandaru Satyanarayana, the politician notorious for his abusive remarks against actress-turned-politician Roja a few years ago, has once again grabbed headlines. His offensive language at the time made him more infamous than any contributions he made as a politician.
During Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government, Bandaru was arrested for his remarks but released the same day. Even leaders and supporters of the YSR Congress Party criticized Jagan for not taking stricter action against him. That incident, however, is now in the past.
In a recent TV interview, Bandaru Satyanarayana shocked viewers by claiming that it was Pawan Kalyan who had patted him and offered moral support after his arrest. He boasted that Pawan had given him strength during that period.
This claim has raised serious questions, especially considering Pawan Kalyan’s known stance on protecting the dignity of women. He had previously expressed deep anguish when actress Sri Reddy used derogatory language that indirectly insulted his mother, earning him widespread social support.
Historically, society has condemned public humiliation of women, as seen when Vallabhaneni Vamsi insulted Nara Bhuvaneshwari Devi, and he received no backing.
Roja, before entering politics, had acted alongside Chiranjeevi in multiple films. Even after becoming a minister, she maintained close ties with Chiranjeevi’s family, attending family functions and seeking his blessings, essentially becoming part of the extended family.
Given this context, Bandaru Satyanarayana’s abusive remarks were not just offensive but deeply personal. If Pawan Kalyan truly respects women, he could have openly condemned Bandaru at the time. Remaining silent for political reasons might have been one thing but supporting him, offering encouragement, and morally backing him raises serious questions about his judgment and character.
It is now crucial for Pawan Kalyan to respond and clarify whether Bandaru’s claim is true. Without a statement, this controversy risks becoming a permanent blot on his political image in Andhra Pradesh.
