Malayalam Hit Bethlehem Kudumba Unit Eyes Rs.250 Crore Mark

Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju starrer Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam hits of the year. Directed by Girish AD of Premalu fame, the romantic comedy was released on August 21 and received a strong response from both youth and family audiences. The film has reportedly collected more than Rs.200 crore worldwide and is currently heading towards the Rs.250 crore milestone. In Kerala alone, its gross is said to be around Rs.78 crore, with the film having a chance to cross the Rs.100 crore mark if the momentum continues.

The film is now preparing to expand its reach beyond the Malayalam market. The Telugu dubbed version is scheduled to hit theatres on September 4, while the Tamil version is also expected to release around the same time. Mythri Movie Makers is reportedly releasing the Telugu dubbed version directly. With its blend of romance, comedy and family emotions, the film has generated considerable interest among Telugu audiences. If the Telugu and Tamil versions also perform well, the movie could potentially enter the Rs.300 crore club.
