Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stated that a significant change in people’s mindset began only after the implementation of economic reforms in the country. He remarked that before the reforms, discussions largely revolved around ideologies, but such theories did not address people’s basic livelihood needs.
Speaking at a collectors’ conference, the Chief Minister highlighted the difference between values and ideologies. He emphasized that improving living standards for citizens requires strong infrastructure such as quality roads, reliable power supply, and access to good education.
Recalling developments since 1995, Chandrababu Naidu said his government was among the first to recognize the importance of technology and actively leverage it for development. Although India gained independence in 1947, he noted that the global perception of the country remained limited until 1991. Following economic reforms, however, the world’s outlook toward India changed significantly.
He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing a stable government, enabling the country to progress with confidence on the global stage. According to him, rapid development achieved over the last 25 years has placed India on a fast growth trajectory.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that despite having power projects in the past, electricity supply was inadequate earlier. Today, the scenario has changed. He added that Telugu people recording one of the highest per capita incomes globally is largely due to their leadership in the knowledge economy. The establishment of private engineering colleges nearly three decades ago, he said, laid the foundation for this progress.
