Former MLC Konda Murali has made it clear that there is no question of his family leaving the Congress party. Addressing a meeting of supporters and party workers, he said that Konda Surekha and he share the same stand, while their daughter has a different opinion. He said he was unaware of her “Plan B” and had no connection with her decisions. Murali stressed that political positions may come and go, but standing by one’s word is what matters.
Konda Murali said they would continue to work within the Congress and fight until Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister. He dismissed reports that the family was planning to switch parties and said they remained loyal to the Congress. He revealed that he had asked Minister Konda Surekha to apologise over their daughter’s remarks, but she did not agree. Murali also challenged anyone to prove allegations of land grabbing against him, saying he would quit politics if proven. He reiterated that loyalty, trust and party workers matter more to him than positions.
