Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana is currently preparing for the Asia Cup final after recently achieving the distinction of becoming the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket. During a recent podcast appearance, host Raj Shamani asked her about the toughest night she had faced in her life. After pausing to think, Mandhana replied, “I think it was about the World Cup,” before becoming emotional. She then said, “I only talk about cricket,” and added that the Covid period was also one of the most difficult phases of her life.
Mandhana also opened up about her personality and her approach to people who hurt her. She said she tends to get angry and prefers to stay away from conflicts, while expecting others not to interfere in her path. Mandhana clarified that she is not someone who seeks revenge, but she does not easily forget painful experiences. “I forgive people, but I don’t forget the incident,” she said. Mandhana had earlier been in a relationship with Palash Muchhal that reportedly progressed towards marriage before ending unexpectedly. Her latest emotional remarks have led to speculation among fans about whether that experience was on her mind.
