In a significant development in the much-debated TTD Parakamani case, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued strong directions, ordering the registration of criminal cases against police officials linked to the incident.
The court instructed the CID and ACB to expedite the investigation. During the hearing, the High Court observed that the CID report clearly indicated that certain police officers had colluded with the accused. In view of these findings, the court stated that both departmental and criminal action are necessary against the concerned officials.
While excluding the core theft incident, the court permitted the CID and ACB to continue probing other aspects that emerged during the investigation. The bench also suggested issuing proper guidelines regarding the Parakamani counting process.
It is noteworthy that the then CI Jagan Mohan Reddy, Two Town CI Chandrasekhar, and SI Lakshmi Reddy have already been sent to VR in connection with the case. Following the latest orders, the possibility of criminal cases being registered against them by the CID is being actively discussed.
Meanwhile, suspense continues over whether a case will be filed against One Town CI Vijay Kumar, who is facing allegations of document manipulation. The High Court has adjourned the next hearing in the matter to the 8th of this month.
