Traffic Challans to Be Sent via WhatsApp

Traffic authorities have decided to issue e-challans directly to the WhatsApp numbers of vehicle owners who violate traffic rules. For those who do not use WhatsApp, the challan details will be sent through SMS and email as an alternative communication method.

As part of the new system developed under the road transport department’s ongoing project, vehicle owners are required to update their mobile number and email ID on the Vahan portal through the central project authority. The notification-based system is set to be implemented from June 2.
