The Maoist network in India continues to weaken significantly. There is information that tomorrow, Barse Deva, who was the chief of the Maoist Guerrilla Liberation Army, is likely to surrender before DGP Shivadhar Reddy.
Deva, who hails from the same village as Hidma follows rumors that he had been under police control for some time and was planning to lay down arms specifically before the DGP.
The surrender is seen as a major blow to the Maoist organization, especially in the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border regions. Along with Deva, several other cadres are reported to have joined him in renouncing violence. This comes amid a series of surrenders and encounters that have eroded the Maoist leadership and morale in recent months.
