

The Telangana police have launched another Operation Crackdown to control cyber crimes in the state. The operation is mainly targeting mule accounts, which are often used for online fraud. As part of this drive, 137 police teams conducted inspections at around 500 locations across the state. During the operation, the cyber security department identified 1,888 mule accounts. Officials said that fraud carried out through these accounts caused losses of nearly ₹100 crore.
Police have taken strict action in connection with these cases. So far, 549 FIRs have been registered related to mule accounts. Authorities also identified 626 suspects, out of which 208 people have been arrested. Police officials said that such operations will continue to prevent cyber fraud and protect the public.
