A case has been registered at the Hyderabad CCS (Central Crime Station) against film actress Ashu Reddy and her family members, based on allegations that they misappropriated Rs 9.35 crore by promising marriage but repeatedly delaying the wedding. According to details provided by the police, Y.V. Dharmendra—son of Yenumula Satyanarayana, a resident of Shaikpet, Hyderabad—works as a software engineer in London. He met Ashu Reddy (whose full name is Venkata Ashwini Reddy Koyya) during a visit to India in 2018. She told him that she had completed her studies in the USA and had come to Hyderabad to seek opportunities in the film industry. Within a few days of their acquaintance, she convinced Dharmendra that she loved him and wanted to marry him; subsequently, she began asking him for money under the pretext of meeting various financial needs. She had him purchase a car, gold, and properties, and ensured that these assets were registered in her own name. Later, Ashu Reddy's family members met with Dharmendra, and—claiming they were formalizing the alliance—even summoned a priest to create a facade of solemnity. "Subsequently, she began avoiding him and, despite being asked multiple times, refused to go through with the marriage. By 2025, she had obtained cash, gold (approximately 5 kilograms), flats, and vehicles from my son, amounting to a total value of Rs 9.35 crore. Additionally, her sister also took Rs 50 lakh," Dharmendra's father stated in his complaint. The CCS police have registered the case and are currently conducting an investigation.
