Revanth Reddy played a key role in bringing the Congress party to power in Telangana during the last elections, earning recognition for his aggressive leadership. Many believe his efforts helped him secure the Chief Minister’s position despite the presence of several senior leaders. During the elections, his approach was widely supported as the party united to counter the strong challenge from K. Chandrashekar Rao and the BRS. However, even after coming to power, Revanth Reddy has continued to function in a dominant, centralized manner, introducing major initiatives like Hydra, Rising Telangana, and Future City, along with ambitious economic goals.
At the same time, concerns are growing within the party about the lack of collective leadership and consultation. Senior leaders and grassroots workers feel that coordination and inclusiveness, which once helped the party win, are now missing. Some leaders who earlier supported Revanth Reddy are reportedly distancing themselves and openly expressing dissatisfaction. After the exit of Jeevan Reddy, several senior members voiced concerns that the party is being run as a one-man show, with limited importance given to broader opinions. They argue that this approach may weaken the party at the grassroots level, even as the opposition attempts to regain strength.
